LCA Community Soccer Registration Starts March 2

It’s time to start thinking about spring again and in Lakeview that means Spring Community Soccer.  We’re back once again with everyone’s favorite spring activity — from the parent’s perspective that means beautiful evenings in the park, and for the kids it’s a chance to run around for an hour and then head to the playground and run around some more!

Registration for spring soccer runs over two evenings, Tuesday March 2 and Wednesday March 10, both from 7PM – 8PM and both at Athabasca School.   Please come out to the night that works out for you.

More information about prices, age groups, etc. are available at the LCA Community Soccer page on the website or in the South Zone Rec Board “Community Ties” newsletter that will be in the mail over the next couple of days.  But don’t miss the fact that we work extra hard to keep the fees low, and all players get a jersey and soccer ball to keep.  Which is pretty cool.

Linda Thauberger is our hard working soccer coordinator and she’s always looking for people to lend a hand for a couple hours, whether coaching, helping at registration night, or distributing balls and jerseys.  This year she’s looking for some special people to step forward:  a team builder/scheduler to make up the rosters after registration night, and a teenager / family to set up and take down the nets at Kinsmen Park South.   The net person receives an honorarium for the season’s work so it’s a nice way to earn some extra money.  Please email Linda  if you can lend a hand.

Community Soccer is our flagship program.  Over 300 Lakeview  kids participate, it’s an awesome way to come out and meet your neighbours after a long winter, and it’s a great collaboration between the South Regina community associations to make it happen.  Fun, Community and Cooperation — Not bad!
