Adult Learn to Skate

Never been on skates before? Maybe you had a negative experience skating as a child? The LCA Adult Learn-to-Skate (LTS) is a great opportunity for those with no or very little experience on the ice. Come out and learn basic skating skills, meet new people and have some fun! No experience necessary!

What to expect:

• We help any skater who has never skated before to be able to stand and move comfortably on the ice.
• We help to work on improving techniques for those skaters who can already move on the ice.
• We work on different skills like balance, skating forwards and backwards, starts, turns and stops.

Equipment needed:

• Please come with sharpened skates and warm clothes, including winter mitts or gloves.
• Helmets are strongly recommended, but not mandatory for the adult class.
• Please do not come to the rink if you are sick.

  • Wednesday classes are at the Balfour Arena at 68 Massey Rd;
  • Saturday classes are at the Optimist Arena 222 Sunset Dr.
